1. Why did you become a mom entrepreneur?
I love my children and I love business! The start of one company snowballed the creation of the next.
When I finished university I started working for an umbrella company for technology startup companies.  I fell in love with the creation and process of start-up companies.  With all members of my family owning their own businesses, something just clicked inside of me.
I opened my dance studio when I was 21 years old.  After my husband and I had kids, we were looking for an art based preschool for our own kids.  Unable to find a program that offered all aspects of the arts (dance, drama, music and dance), I decided to start my own.  At the same time we were looking to expand our services at the dance studio.  We started offering birthday parties.  Instead of purchasing everything from a store, I decided to start a gift basket company which looks after all the decorations, loot bags, etc. for our parties.  All 3 businesses work together and complement each other.

2. What's your biggest challenge working for yourself?
My biggest challenge is balance.  Time with my family, time for myself and time for my businesses.  I am a big ideas person.  Sometimes I can get carried away with my big dreams.  I am very fortunate to have my husband who brings me back to reality when needed and a fabulous team that helps me make my dreams come true.  It is all about balance!

3. What advice would you give other mom entrepreneurs?
My advice would be to reach for the stars and never give up.  Dream big! Great things can happen through those dreams.  Surround yourself with amazing people.  We cannot do it all alone.
