Today's profile is a member of the Ontario Mompreneur Group. Grace Stillo owns iLash. me, an innovative cosmetic company.
1. Why did you become a mom entrepreneur?
Life was challenging raising three small children with a husband recovering from a serious car accident. I needed to do something! Four years ago I went with a friend to a spa show in Toronto and immediately recognized the new hot trend was individual eyelash extensions. For the past three years my little business has managed to become quite successful. During the years I had the opportunity to meet women ages 20-75 years old and hear their eyelash related stories about how some have sparse lashes, fine lashes, wanting thicker and longer lashes, etc. I decided that I would strive to create my own line of products to solve many of the concerns experienced by women.
Since I have manged to become successful on my own I designed iLash.me to create flexible work-from-home business opportunities for entrepreneurial women everywhere. Providing unique products that can only be sold through a Lashionista. I am pleased to say I have become successful that I have now opened my own Training/Distribution head office were we monthly have Lashionista's Meeting and help these entrepreneurial women become successful like me but still able to mange their personal life. I love to empower women and being a role model for them. I always say "If I can do it.....So can you".!
2. What’s your biggest challenge working for yourself?
The biggest challenge working for myself is having so many ideas in creating new products and bring in new services to help everyday women look and feel their best and only having one of me to deliver. Starting my own empire means working around the clock but stopping once my kids come from school until bedtime and then spending quality time with my hubby. Then its back to work! But I always find one day out of the week to be "ME" day!!
3. What advice would you give other mom entrepreneurs?
My advice to other mom entrepreneurs is never give up your dream and passion!
We are all women who have a crazy lifestyles of taking care of our kids, house and business.
