There's no better way to spend a long weekend than .... potty training!!! Forget the relaxing beer & BBQ, it's all about the uninterrepted time to train!
The spring weather combined with the fact that Andrew just turned 2.5 years old and has a good awareness about the toliet meant this 3 day weekend at home was a perfect opportunity for potty bootcamp.
With my first child, the training process took a very long 8 months since we were more eager than her. This time there was no way we were going to rush Andrew. I turned to momstown for some research and advice and every seasoned momstown mom told me to wait till he was ready (check!) and use REWARDS.
Armed with lots of stickers and M&Ms; we kick started the process. A Lightening McQueen cars sticker plus one M&M; for every 'pee' and a shiny big construction vehicle sticker plus 2 M&Ms; for a poop. Let the meaning of a Dump Truck not be lost on you....
I sign off after a good day 3 (just two accidents in the whole weekend!) and with a bag of 6 fresh underwear and shorts stashed in his backpack for school tomorrow. May the force be with him as he tries out his new skill in a new place. I'm so proud of my big boy!

Thu, 05/23/2013 - 10:46 You can start introducing her to the potty. For sure!!! Do not expect immediate results. Some children are ready at this age to potty train some are just not. Do not push it but leave it open for her at this age let her lead the way. pottytrainingin3days.org
